It is cultivated in the Baix Ebre and Montsiá regions and in Castellón. Originally from Els Reguers (Tortosa).

Description

Productive variety, alternating and slow entry into production. Very late ripening. Not resistant to drought and sensitive to cold. Moderately resistant to repilo. Fly disease is usually delayed, but its progression can be very fast.

Tasting

Late ripening profile, intense green fruity. On the palate it is complex, with intense and balanced spiciness, bitterness and sweetness. Very rich in secondary aromas of a vegetable type, with clear connotations of cut grass and hints of leaves, orchard plants (almonds, artichokes or tomatoes), and with notes of green, as well as almonds on the palate. The whole result is an oil of great richness and complexity.

HARMONIZE

Morrut oil is indicated for salads, grilled meat and fish. Intense green fruity profile.
